Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the White House.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

The president stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president addressed journalists. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Community members assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist law enforcement in DC.

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of her previous school, stated to the media. “She was sweet, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Memorial arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Officials have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
