Information on the Tragic Shooting

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Vigils across the state have occurred in their memory.

White House Offer

The president stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president addressed journalists. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Community members assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist law enforcement in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of her previous school, stated to the media. “She was sweet, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Memorial arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Policy Changes

Officials have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the administration to halt asylum applications and halt issuing visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor the governor said on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general stated on a news show that she aimed to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a MP with excellence, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
