Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
