Your Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on Your Astrological Sign
This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement within the community. From the gradual reveal of newcomers before the game's launch, to trainers forming firm views on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to anticipate.
With many of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that emphasize their personalities, one thought naturally: What's the best way to link this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was almost chosen for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes Aries much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which only erupts when provoked. Stay on the good side of either and enjoy a strong ally; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Similar to a devoted Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its regular and Mega form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are also battle-oriented, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their position unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed passion for snacks. Several previous Pokédex entries note their fondness for tasty sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it everything, which is true Taurus energy.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Look at this total royalty. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the life of every party, providing an endless stream of gossip to those who wants to hear. Just like an captivating, gregarious Twins, it's very easy to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire Wild Zone with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to foresee an opponent's future actions, which sounds very similar to a people-smart Twins.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
The Crab is widely considered as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for often becoming absorbed in their feelings. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its capability to make a storm cloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.
Leo – Super Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to select Pyroar for the king of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just went viral for being extremely fabulous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Players were captivated from the violet sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion brings to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting radio waves from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Leo to be putting on a show, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Virgo is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The zodiac symbol famous for being endearingly critical is clearly reflected across this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a always shocked face like a Maiden when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a strategy.
Libra – Mega Audino
Observe this gentle, empathetic being, who employs the sensors on its auditory organs to tell how people are feeling by their pulse. Always compassionate – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are many Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them worry more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Super Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly sad backstory: Discarded as a toy, it gained sentient through sheer resentment and vowed retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a performance. As a Archer myself, the number of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful small jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even mentions how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer match I can think of.
The Goat – Super Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to predict calamities ahead of time? That gives the exact same vibe as a Capricorn, who tends to consistently think they’re right. The thing is, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Mega Evolution that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Aquarius is possibly the non-flame sign that is closest to a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s double Ghost/Fire typing matches seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s description says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into strength.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
